SALAH HAS SURPASSED ROBBEN, RIBERY – RICHARDS
Ex-Premier League defender Micah Richards is certain that Liverpool talisman Mohamed Salah has surpassed the likes of Arjen Robben and Frank Ribery on the list of the best wide forwards in the history of the game, Richards talked about Arjen Robben and Frenchman Ribery in his column with the Daily Mail has he praised the quality that Salah has shown since the new Premier League campaign started in August.
Dutchman Arjen Robben and his French counterpart Ribery were seen as the best wide forwards in world football when they were at the peak of their powers at Bayern Munich in the German league but former Fiorentina and Manchester City defender Richards is of the opinion that Salah is operating at a level better than the one showed by those two players at the Allianz Arena. According to the retired England international, Salah has surpassed both Ribery and Robben.
Liverpool attacker Salah has been in sensational form in the Premier League and he showed his quality again on Sunday during the Premier League heavyweight clash between his team and defending champions Manchester City. Salah produced a moment of magic with fourteen (14) minutes from time as he danced his way around several City players before slotting home with his right foot. His goal gave the Reds a 2-1 but Manchester City would score an equaliser five minutes later as the two teams shared a 2-2 draw.
Salah took his tally to six Premier League goals with the wonder goal against the Citizens thereby pulling level with Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy at the top of the scoring chart. He also has three assists for Liverpool in the league this season. Salah has 102 goals in the Premier League and he’s just two shy of the record for an African player. Chelsea legend Didier Drogba holds the record with 104 goals.
