ROBBEN WANTS NEW DEAL
Bayern Munich striker Arjen Robben has said that he will be looking to extending his current contract with the German club only after February. The midfielder has endured an indifferent spell at the German club – he has been injured often, but has found himself to be the best player for the club when fit.
Hence, there have been suggestions that Bayern Munich will be thinking twice when it comes to extending the contract of the former Real Madrid midfielder. Arjen Robben has been at the forefront of everything positive about Bayern Munich this season. He is valued at around £ 25 million, but could depart the club on a free if he chooses not to extend the contract.
Instead of concentrating on extending his contract, Arjen Robben has said that his main priority will be to concentrate on his fitness. He has suffered a number of niggling injuries in the past, but it is something that cannot be contributed towards the Bayern Munich medical staff alone. Arjen Robben has endured a number of injury problems the past – most notably during his Chelsea career. However, given his exceptional pace and skill, there would be no shortage of offers on the table if he decides to leave Bayern Munich on a free transfer.
“The club knows how I feel about it. I feel comfortable here and I see no reason to leave at the moment. But that is not a priority for me right now. The priority is to play again and to be important to the team. The support has done me very well. The club has talked a lot with me and I’m very grateful,” he told tz-online when asked about his future. He has scored 32 goals in just 46 matches for Bayern Munich since his £ 20 million move from Real Madrid.
