ROBBEN SAD WITH INJURIES
The Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben has said that is extremely sad to pick up another niggling injury at the start of the new season. The 28-year-old is regarded as one of the best attacking players at Bayern Munich, but he has had his fair share of injury problems in his long career. Arjen Robben was looking to put behind the disappointment of having missed out on the three major titles last season, while also performing very badly with the Dutch national team at the 2012, by doing well for Bayern Munich at the start of this season. Arjen Robben was expected to be part of the Dutch national team that was playing against Hungary in a World Cup qualifying match. However, he had to pull out of the match in the last moment after suffering a groin injury. This is likely to keep him out for the next few matches. He has admitted that he has not been fit for the 2-0 win over Turkey a few days ago.
“It’s obviously very disappointing. I already wasn’t fully match fit after the match versus Turkey, but I thought I would be alright. Nevertheless, I then felt pain in my groin while warming up. I am really disappointed,” said the player regarding his injury. “We took off Robin for precautionary measures. It doesn’t seem to be too serious, but you never know. We didn’t want to take any risks,” said the Dutch national team manager Louis van Gaal. Bayern Munich managed a stunning 6-1 win over Stuttgart before going into the international break, while they will face Mainz on the return.
