Bayern Munich won 2-1 against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday, 1st November at the Allianz arena.

Marco Reus scored a goal for Dortmund. Borussia Dortmund lost five times consecutively in this edition of Bundesliga. The team never before made such a bad start in this competition.

Bayern Munich is currently at the topmost position in the league table being four points ahead of VFL Wolfsburg, which currently holds the second place. Dortmund is at the 17th place with only seven points.

Neven Subotic, the defender of the Dortmund team who replaced Matt Hummels made a mistake of holding back Franck Ribery of the Bayern Munich team in the penalty area which proved to be a costly one. Arjen Robben utilized the opportunity and scored the second goal for Bayern Munich.

Pep Guardiola, coach of the Bayern Munich team said that the team is satisfied at their performance and further added that their performance in the second half was appropriate.

Coach Klopp said that Dortmund had put in a lot of effort to win the game which makes the defeat all the more heartbreaking for them.

Lewandowski said after the game that they successfully retained their position in the league table and further added that it was a remarkable day for him. He said that Dortmund indeed is in a bad position at the moment but he’s sure that in the next season the team will be able to enter the Championship League.

Robben Reveals Dive In World Cup

Netherlands managed to scrape a victory against Mexico but it only happened after the referee allowed the team of Louis van Gaal on scoring a penalty kick during the last few seconds of the match after Arjen Robben appeared to have been brought down inside the penalty box but it was later confirmed to be a dive.

A few days later after the match was over, Robben announced to the public that he indeed had dived.

Robben said: “It’s a shame because yesterday in an interview I was very honest. Maybe honesty is sometimes punished. I always prefer to be honest and I said there was one foul in the first half where I went to the ground when the opponent took his leg away at the last moment. That was silly from me but it didn’t influence the game. It had nothing to do with the game and the penalty was a clear penalty. I apologize for the action in the first-half but that’s football and it had nothing to do with the game. We had two clear penalties, one was given and that’s it. We shouldn’t think about it anymore.”

Even though the Dutchman later revealed that he had indeed dived, FIFA announced that no bans or sanctions will be made towards Arjen Robben and his late actions which ultimately gave the victory for Netherlands as they advanced through while Mexico was eliminated.

Klass- Jan Huntelaar blasted the set-piece into the back of the net as he secured the triumph for his country.

Arjen Robben has played a pivotal role in the squad of Netherlands through the group stages of the World Cup with consistent performances that has immensely helped his team in all of the matches that have been played.

‘’The chance is zero that I make the switch. The fact is that I’m at a club where my family and I have a great time. Look, it’s very different when you‘re not completely happy. I would certainly be open to it, because I had a fantastic time with Van Gaal at Bayern and know him well. It is very important for my career.  But the fact is that I’m at a club where my family and I have great time’’ Robben revealed as he spoke during a training session with Holland in Portugal.

Almost 1 month ago, Louis van Gaal was appointed as the new coach of Manchester United as he will take up the hot seat of the Premier League club when the 2014 World Cup finalizes and already there are a number of players in the wish-list of the Dutch manager which includes players such as: Edinson Cavani, Cesc Fabregas and Bastian Schweinsteiger as some of the performers that Louis van Gaal wants to add into the squad of Manchester United and more recently Arjen Robben.
