Perhaps, his most impressive season in the Dutch League up until now came in the 2002-03 season when he scored remarkable 12 goals from 33 appearances, which is made even extraordinary given that he plays on the wings.

He spent two more seasons with the Chelsea and the English club could not resist the offer of £24 million from Real Madrid in the summer of 2007.

After his arrival at the Santiago Bernebeu, Arjen Robben soon became an important part of the team. Especially considering that, the Real Madrid side was not on par with the previous generations of the Galacticos period. In his first season at Real Madrid, Robben made 28 appearances and this increased to 35 appearances in the second season, which was by far his best. However, change in the presidency of the club resulted in Robben moving to Bayern Munich for around €25 million.

As with Real Madrid, Robben was once again impressive at Bayern Munich, although he did suffer injuries during key moments of the season.

Robben made his international debut for the Dutch national team in 2003. His first major tournament with the Dutch was the Euro 2004.
