ROBBEN WILL STAY

The president of Bayern Munich, Uli Hoeness, has said that Arjen Robben is not going to leave the club in the near future. In the last few days, there have been reports that some big clubs have shown interest in Robben and the Dutch striker might leave Bayern Munich during the mid season transfer window. But, Hoeness made it clear that these reports are completely false.

When asked about the reports of the transfer of Robben, Hoeness said, “I have also seen some reports about the transfer of Robben. I want to make it quite clear that the club is not going to sell Robben during the mid season transfer window. He is a great asset for us and we want him to keep playing for us till the end of his career.”

Robben has been playing for Bayern Munich since the last three years. He had signed for the club in 2009. Bayern had bought him from Real Madrid after paying a transfer fee of 25 million Euros. Robben has proved to be a very good buy for the club and he has performed consistently for Bayern in all the three seasons that he has played so far.

Robben has played 97 matches for Bayern so far in which he has scored 56 goals. In the final of the Champions League in the last season, Robben’s performance was not up to the mark. He hadn’t managed to capitalize on a couple of easy goal scoring opportunities and he had also missed a penalty. The Dutch striker was criticized a lot for his dismal performance in the match.

When asked about that match, Robben said, “That was a tough day for him and it can happen with any player in the world. One bad match doesn’t mean that he is a bad player. He has been the hero of many victories of Bayern in the last three years.”

Robben has been struggling with muscle injury in the ongoing season and he is not supposed to feature for Bayern in the match against Fortuna Dusseldorf which is going to be played at Espirit Arena on Saturday.

ROBBEN SAD WITH INJURIES

The Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben has said that is extremely sad to pick up another niggling injury at the start of the new season. The 28-year-old is regarded as one of the best attacking players at Bayern Munich, but he has had his fair share of injury problems in his long career. Arjen Robben was looking to put behind the disappointment of having missed out on the three major titles last season, while also performing very badly with the Dutch national team at the 2012, by doing well for Bayern Munich at the start of this season. Bayern Munich are looking to win their first league title in three years.

However, he will miss the first few matches of the after he has suffered an injury to his groin. Arjen Robben was expected to be part of the Dutch national team that was playing against Hungary in a World Cup qualifying match. However, he had to pull out of the match in the last moment after suffering a groin injury. This is likely to keep him out for the next few matches. He has admitted that he has not been fit for the 2-0 win over Turkey a few days ago.

“It’s obviously very disappointing. I already wasn’t fully match fit after the match versus Turkey, but I thought I would be alright. Nevertheless, I then felt pain in my groin while warming up. I am really disappointed,” said the player regarding his injury. “We took off Robin for precautionary measures. It doesn’t seem to be too serious, but you never know. We didn’t want to take any risks,” said the Dutch national team manager Louis van Gaal. Bayern Munich managed a stunning 6-1 win over Stuttgart before going into the international break, while they will face Mainz on the return.

DISAPPOINTING SEASONS ARE BEHIND THEM

Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben has said that he is confident that the German club can finally put behind the disappointment of the last two seasons to finally achieve success this time around. Bayern Munich have had two disastrous seasons both in the league and in the European competitions.

While they have been unable to claim the league title for two consecutive seasons, they have been defeated in the final of the Champions League twice in the last three seasons. Arjen Robben was hoping to win more trophies with the German club when he arrived from Real Madrid for £ 24 million.

However, he has had success in only a few competitions. The Dutch winger, who suffered yet more pain with the Dutch national team at the Euro 2012, has said that he is hoping that this season may prove to be more fruitful than the last two seasons with Bayern Munich. Reclaiming the title from the hands of Borussia Dortmund will certainly not be easy, but Arjen Robben reckons that the club has enough quality and enough experience of the past few seasons to help them get past the line ahead of their arch rivals.

“Hopefully, this will help us get more trophies this season. It was important for us to set an example today. We are on the right track as a team,” said Arjen Robben after the 2-1 win over Borussia Dortmund in the DFL-Supercup. This was one of the first victories for the club against Borussia Dortmund in the last five seasons. Arjen Robben has said that he hopes that this will finally bring an end to the dominance Borussia Dortmund have had over them in the last five seasons. The club captain Philipp Lahm has said that he is extremely happy with the performance of the players.

BAYERN WANT TITLE

Bayern Munich midfielder Arjen Robben has said that the club are extremely desperate to win more titles this season. Bayern Munich finished in the runners-up position in the three major competitions they took part in last season, which was one of the worst in history of the club. They not only managed to finish second to archrivals Borussia Dortmund in the league, but also in the DFB Polkal cup as well. As a result, they came into the final of the UEFA Champions League knowing that they need to win in order to prevent themselves from going into the history as one of the most unlikely teams.

However, they lost the final of the match 4-3 on penalties after having drawn the match 1-1 to Chelsea. This was the second time Bayern Munich have finished as the runners up in the Champions League in the last three seasons. Arjen Robben was also part of the team that lost in the 2010 final. Now, the Dutch winger has said that he wants to banish the memory of last season by going for all the titles this season. Even though Bayern Munich have not made any major signings, Robben is confident that they can achieve success this season.

“We have a season behind us in which we were close to all titles, but in the end we did not win anything. The hunger for titles is even greater now. I already feel a lot of desire in the team, even if we are missing several key players who are still on holiday after Euro 2012. You must never lose. We must always win. Before half-time we gave them a goal to make it 1-1 too easily. That is the sort of thing that cost us points in the Bundesliga,” said Arjen Robben.
