Bayern Munich midfielder Arjen Robben has said that the injury to Toni Kroos may help him from now until the end of the season. Robben was signed from Real Madrid a few years ago for £ 24 million. He has been one of the important members of the team until now. Bayern Munich manager Jupp Heynckes has been preferring Thomas Müller to Arjen Robben this season. As a result, he has spent majority of the season on the sidelines. There have been several rumours that Robben may leave the club at the end of the season.
Recently, he stated that he was not happy with the lack of regular first team action. German international Toni Kroos has proved over the years that he is extremely influential and important for the team. He plays in a midfield role that improves the team by supporting both attack and defence. He was recently injured in the 2-0 win over Juventus. The crucial win in the Champions League quarter-finals helped the team progress into the semifinals where they will be facing Barcelona. Now that Kroos is injured, Robben is hoping to feature in the first-team more often than not.
He has said that the team should play to their limit in order to defeat Barcelona in the semifinals.
“It does not look so good for Kroos, but then that is better for me. It happens in football. I was sick that I had to start on the bench. On Saturday I played a great game (in the 9-2 victory over Hamburg) and I wanted to continue that form, but the coach decided otherwise. I ended up playing tonight so I have to be happy. Of course it is far from over, but we have made a great step towards the semi-finals,” said the former Chelsea winger.

The Dutch winger Arjen Robben has been one of the important players for Bayern Munich over the last few seasons. Alongside Frank Ribery, he has been able to terrorise several defences over the last few years. Many regard him to be at the same level he was at Chelsea.
Even though he has suffered injury problems throughout his career, the 29-year-old has certainly managed to establish himself at the Allianz arena. However, this season has been a little bit difficult for the midfielder because he has not been a first-team regular under Heynckes. The Bayern Munich star Arjen Robben has said that he can understand the reasons for top players leaving Arsenal and the club not being able to win any major trophy in the last eight seasons. It has been eight years since Arsenal last lifted a major trophy in the form of the FA Cup. Their last league title came in 2004 in the side that contained the likes of Thierry Henry and Patrick Vieira. Arjen Robben is one of the few remaining players to have played against this Arsenal team when he was a Chelsea player. His current Bayern Munich team will be coming up against the Premier league team in the last 16 stage of the Champions League.
Ahead of this tie, Arsenal are fighting to finish in the top four this season. One of the main reasons for their inability to comfortably finish in the top four has been the lack of goals following the sale of striker like Robin van Persie. Robben has said that he can understand the reasons for van Persie leaving Arsenal despite being the captain of the team. He has said that every player wants to win major trophies, and van Persie did not see it happening at Arsenal for the time being.
“Yes, Robin was the captain. But that’s also how it goes in football. Players are leaving. In the end, of course, for the real Arsenal supporters it was a shame, it was very disappointing that he left the club. But on the other hand, if they think clearly, everybody understands his choice that he also wants to win titles and at Arsenal at the moment it’s going to be very difficult. I think you can see it. It’s not my opinion, it’s also a fact,” said Robben ahead of the match.

The former Chelsea and Real Madrid winger Arjen Robben has said that he feels that he is getting back to his best with the German club Bayern Munich. The 28-year-old is regarded as one of the best wingers, but his form with the German club has dipped of recent times. Even though he helped the club get to the Champions League final in 2012, he was unable to prevent them from losing the final. Robben also missed a crucial penalty that would have given the team the victory, while the Dutchman was also guilty of not taking his chances in the 2010 World Cup final.
After a few seasons of not being at his best, Robben has been one of the impressive players for the Bayern Munich team this season. Bayern Munich have been able to dominate the German league, while also qualifying for the latter stages of the UEFA Champions League as well. Robben has not been part of the team since suffering an injury in November. He has only recently returned to the first-team action, but Bayern Munich are currently in Middle East for the training camp. Robben has said that cannot wait to start his competitive match for the club once again.
“I don’t really want to say too much about that. Of course it’s something I think about. I was injured a lot during the first half of the season which was a shame and obviously really disappointing, but now I’m back. I feel like I’m getting back to my previous best and you could see that at times today. I think the people here know what I’m capable of so I don’t have any fear at all. I always expect to start,” said the 28-year-old, who has played an influential role in the friendly matches for the team so far.

The winger of Bayern Munich, Arjen Robben, has got injured again and would not be able to feature for his club for the next three weeks. Robben had discovered muscle injury while playing for his national side in November, but, he was expected to get fit before Bayern Munich’s last match against Borussia Dortmund. But, Robben didn’t play in that match. After the match, he disclosed that he has got rid of his muscle injury, but, he has discovered a back injury now and he might have to remain out of action for a few more days.
Talking to the reporters after the match against Borussia Dortmund, Robben said, “I have recovered from the muscle injury, but, unfortunately, I have been hit by back injury now because of which I might not be able to play any more match this year. I have been feeling a lot of pain in my back since the last three days.”
Robben has been struggling with injuries since the start of the season. He has played in only 10 matches in the ongoing season.
When asked how frustrating it is to get injured frequently, Robben said, “It’s obviously disappointing to get injured and when you get hit by back-to-back injuries, it gets even more frustrating. But, you can’t do much about it.”
When asked about the performance of the team in the match against Borussia Dortmund, Robben said, “It was certainly not our best day in the office. We should have won the match, but, we lost quite a few opportunities. Nevertheless, we are still at the top of the table which is great.”
Bayern Munich presently has 38 points in 15 matches. Bayern’s next match will be a Champions League encounter against BATE Borisov on Wednesday.
