Bayern Munich winger Douglas Costa will end the current season with the Bavarian giants after he was unable to join a new team before the transfer window ended on Monday. Douglas Costa is on a season-long loan deal at Bayern Munich from parent club Juventus and has not seen much playing time at the Allianz Arena. He was previously a Bayern Munich player before he left the Germans to sign for Juventus.

Last summer, Douglas Costa left Juventus to sign for Bayern Munich on loan for the season.Douglas Costa is a player that has impressed fellow winger Arjen Robben during the course of his career. Arjen Robben and Douglas Costa were teammates at Bayern Munich. Arjen Robben once described the Brazilian international as a special player and that he’s a real talent. Arjen Robben left Bayern Munich some seasons ago and went on to retire from football. He came out of retirement to sign for his beloved team Groningen but he has not been able to play much for them due to several injuries. Arjen Robben has been restricted to just two appearances in the league in the colours of Groningen. In addition, the Dutch player has not featured for his team this year.

Arjen Robben is an admirer of Douglas Costa as pointed out earlier from their time at Bayern Munich but the Brazilian has not been able to force his way into the starting XI with the likes of Serge Gnabry, Leroy Sane and Kingsley Coman ahead of him.Douglas Costa has not played successive games for Bayern Munich this season and has been restricted to just three starts in the German Bundesliga and three starts in the cup competitions. In his career till date, Douglas Costa has won 21 trophies, including two German Bundesliga titles, three Italian Serie A titles and five Ukrainian league titles.
