Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben says that he has a great relationship with manager Pep Guardiola. After taking over as the manager of the German club in 2013, Guardiola has seen an impressive change to the way Bayern have played.

Robben has the experience of playing under some of the top coaches in the world. He has already been part of teams managed by the likes of Jose Mourinho, Guus Hiddink, Louis van Gaal, and Guardiola. Many felt that Robben would be sold after Guardiola took charge of Bayern Munich. Since the former Barcelona boss favours a team game, the Dutch international was not expected to fit into the plans since he is more self-centric in front of goal.

This has not proven to be the case after Robben has become one of the key members of this Bayern Munich team, which has romped to the top of the table yet again.

The defeat against Wolfsburg a few weeks ago has only turned out to be a freak result, as Bayern have since had an eight point advantage over the second placed outfit. The club has scored an astonishing 20 goals in the last five matches and Robben has been a major contributor to this run. The winger took his tally to 19 goals in just 25 matches after his goal against FC Cologne during the weekend.

“When I started working with Pep 18 months ago I noticed how he goes much deeper into football. His intelligence is obvious. Tactically he’s one of the best in the world and under him I have made more steps in my development. I’ve come quite a long way these 18 months. At the start of that season I was so motivated. It was not only me but everybody in the squad. It sounds like a cliche but you felt this determination to make up for everything,” said Robben.
